Hi,I'm new, can someone give me further information?

Introduce Yourself

Natural method. If you're just starting out, throw away the comb and don't look back. before you even think about mild sectioning your hair has to "feel itself out" into those sections you were talking about before you start trying to separate. the shampoos available are in the shop section of the website all of those are great and there's even some specifically for baby locs. Don't touch em! :] jah bless man.

Start of a new journey!!

Introduce Yourself

Great choice with neglect. As long as you're mentally strong you will love the journey and the results. This process will also let you know who's really behind you as far as friends are concerned. Feel free to join the natural/neglect dreadlocks group as well. Jah Bless

Dread ignorance

Life Issues Facing Dreads

Ah, high school. a bunch of insecure people always judging at the blink of an eye out of envy. I really do applaud you in my wildest dreams I would've never attempted this journey in high school just because it's a bunch of bullshit from people all the time that i just don't want to hear 24/7. You are valiant! Anyways, from looking at the picture they look fine! It's the beginning stages. Please stick with it you're only with those idiots for two more years anyways after that no one keeps in touch from high school trust me! And I was on my iphone THROUGHOUT high school and got A's and B's so right on ;)
Jah Bless

New Kid!

Introduce Yourself

Welcome to dreadom. First off way to go choosing the neglect method, it's the best choice for your hair type i can already see some curls binding together so that means you're gonna have some early success and results in the process which is always encouraging. second thing you need to do is get rid of all your combs, picks, etc. you gotta be patient. in the shop section of the forum you'll see info about the shampoos that are available to help keep the scalp clean and promote locking. there is also a baking soda/apple cider vinegar rinse formula for washing that you can see the steps to if you search it in the engine. there is also a sea salt solution that you can spray on your hair 10mins-2hrs prior to washing that will really get things going well. don't use any waxes or gels they all cause the hair to mold and build up gunk. you're on the right path tho, for real man. with neglect you shouldn't have any major problems. when the hair starts to lock up you can do some careful separating on wash days to avoid "congos," or massive joined dreads. sound good? good luck and jah bless.

I know I'm just so excited to see what they look like in the future that I get carried away and forget the reason I decided to do this in the first place, which was to let go.

The hair on top?

Dread Maintenance

That is completely normal for that to happen. you gotta be patient lol you're doing just fine. dreads are naturally behind one another in terms of timing. unless you're looking for that "manufactured" look, then you should just let them do their thing.
