Okay first of all i want to say i'm talking about experience.
I've been through all this stupidness like felting needle etc.
Why would i choose natural instead of making starts?
I hear often from my friends that they want to make "Starts" for their hair, because they think their hair won't lock up (usually very straight)
Even i thought my hair won't lock up, because i don't have African type of curl.
Even thought i found this page, i doubted natural, now i wonder why.
I guess it was the fact, that i didn't beleave in my self, that i would do it naturally.
Backcomb, TnR, all these methods are pretty bad in my oppinion.
You only create sections, (These are only blueprints of your dreads) and in most cases you make too big dreads or too small, and they harm and damage your hair (will be bad in long run)
And if you are going to loctician, you will get wax, and your hair will be literally raped with different types of methods, and you have to pay so amazingly huge amount of money.
So people, TRUST THE NATURAL WAY! NEGLECT ALL THE WAY. FOLLOW THE PATH YOU ARE BORN WITH!
For example, no Rastafarian goes to loctician to get dreadlocks hehe, no. It's always neglect.
And any hair type will get knotted up, and eventually lock up.
I opened all my twist and rip dreadlocks, and my hair has never ever been happier, i even felted like many months ago, opened them too, and through this experience i want to tell you all that, trust the natural, your hair will dread up, it doesn't need no wax or miracles, just love and washing.
And most likely you will regret at some point you made starts for no reason.
I'm very happy to hear you have decided to join this journey.
Okay, i just wanna share something if it helps even a bit.
I am 15 old with dreadlocks (4 months now)
I used to be a person with huge EGO. Now i don't have any.
I don't mind, i am happy now.
There is a reason they call this journey, but don't worry Sis, everything is going to be alright, just don't doubt u r self. In deep you know that this is right.
I asked my mother for half a year for dreadlocks, she said they were ugly, dirty, even my 20 year old sister said same thing, nobody in my relatives wanted to see them.
Now 4 months later, even my mother said my dreadlocks look good, and SMELL GREAT! (thanks to dreadlockshampoo.com) <3
My hair is very representive if needed, and my friends like them, eventho i used to get questions like "what happened to u r hair" and all dat, but now these comments don't hurt anymore.
Do what you want, life is way too short to be wasted on other peoples oppinions.
