Hello and welcome to the website! youve already got the plan of letting your hair lock up, so do just that, let it lock! no big deal really its amazing how much people can trip over the inane things that have no significance isnt it? its their problem though, your ours yours or mine! in time as your hair grows into gorgeous locks and you grow with them, you will end up teaching mom a lot.

African Black soap and Shea butter.. yaay or naay?

Dread Products

I recently got back from a 2 month stint in Nigeria and managed to get myself about a years supply of black soap and shea butter (for dirt cheap!) i use them both for my body and hair but once i start dreading i'm wondering how drastically i would need to change my products/ routine?.. i was already on the curly girl hype so no SLS, silicones, combing etc but i just wanted to know if anybody has/ is using either successfully and how they used it?

thanks in advance :-D

judgement in early stages

Introduce Yourself

wow.. he surely must have been joking?... well all u can do is keep in mind what ur hoping to achieve in the end.... i haven't started my dread journey yet (gotta out the braids first) but i have my motivation already in the form of a huge poster of Lauryn hill (my dread role model) so in summary.. screw all of them :-)

Introduce Yourself

Hi, I'm Ayeshat, 21, a londoner and interested in goin judge dread on everybodys ass (excuse my attempt at humour). ermm i guess i should start by saying i haven't got a clue where to start. I have about a 3 inch afro atm which I didnt comb often so it kinda started dreading but then my mum freaked out so now its in braids. I just wanted to accumulate all the knowledge that I possibly can before i start anything... feel free to add me as a friend or whatever the protocol is for this site :-D
