Since when i was a teen i always thought that dreadlocks are cute n easy to handle cos my elder sister had them . The reason why i didn't start them before was every one told me that i didn't have enough hair for them that it requires thick n much hair and my sister always told me that i will look weired if i ever start them. I got scared but i promised my self that one day am gonna twist my hair n that came last year when i was travelling to Europe from Africa . I knew that it was pretty expensive to handle other fake looks n i wanted to be nature and real . I had short hair n i decided to go for it , i didn't look my best but there was nothing one can say to stop me doing so . I learnt how to twist them my self cos i have always seen my sister do so . At the begining it was so hard but i had to get used to it cos i didn't know anyone n i was in the new country without friends. Right now my hair looks cool . My sister sees them in photos and she said they look nice .

Its really a good feeling to have natural hair and they are easy to handle .

For me they are cheap , i always wash them once a week and i twist them every after 2 weeks cos its not good to over twist them.

It is short but really looking good , African Hair doesn't grow so fast but in just one year i feel like my dreams r already came true .

Am new on the site .

Cool, glad you are doing what you've always wanted with yr hair but you really don't need to twist. Let it grow and do its thing, African hair produce's beautiful dreads without twisting. Thats my opinion anyway and probably most on this site.

Where in Africa are you from? I have family in Gambia, my partner is from there. My visit to Africa last November is what has inspired me to grow dreads again. I'm visiting again in Nov and can't wait. I've never met such nice people anywhere else in the world that I did in Africa, I know now why the call Gambia "The Smilie Coast" Take care ;) x
