My Rainbow Brite Tam (or learning to crochet)

I have started making Tam's cause I think they are a very nice way to decorate my dreads. I can wear them with my hair in, to keep from playing with it because . . . I am . . . I am . . . going to let them dread naturally . . . no . . . matter . . . how . . .long . . . it takes, or!!! I can wear it with some dreads out, or all out, just covering my top-of-the-head fuzzies.

And the exciting thing is: I had no idea how to crochet, just two weeks ago. I bought a tam from Oshinn, on Etsy, and thought it was so beautiful, that I wanted to learn how to make them. So I got some tam patterns and then looked up, on line what the gobblety-gook in the patterns meant- example:ch 1, 2dc in same st, 2dc in next st. This means chain 1, then in the same stitch, make 2 double crochets, then make 2 double crochets in the next stitch. Okay, so what is a double crochet??? Well you tube will show me!!! And once you get the basic hang of it, here is a website that lays out all the stitches: www.crochetnmore.com/123basics.htm .I just think it's so cool how easy it was to learn.
