I would suggest natural, but TnR is the next best thing.

Welcome. Check out the dreaducation page first off. Then take a look through the timeline forums. See what you'll be in for in the coming weeks/months. Neglect is the healthiest method. You just through away your brush and wash 2-3 times a week with a lock-friendly soap. Then as they mature, separate as needed. If you want to use a starter method, TnR is better than back combing. It does much less damage. Just remember that no locks form quickly. It takes about a full year to grow mature locks.

Above all, NEVER use wax, gels, creams, or any type of tool on your hair. And never go to a salon to have them "fixed" or started
