Some dreads can always use a little upkeep. My roots especially. i basically get a afro under my dreads which puffs them out and makes them not look as good. I twist them around but its alwasy faster for someone esle and i used to crochet a friends dreads (very slowly and without causin unseemly damage to their hair) in exchange for him hand rolling mine, once a month
crochet always always always causes extreeme harm the afro belongs there twisting them will caise traction alopecia and baldsing
the fact that the afro around them isnt there is proof that its causing a receding and slow but sure balding
no dreads dont need upkeep they need to be left alone
u also used wazx..wax is 1 of the worse mistakes u can make besides crochet\
I have teh fro but i like the more uniform look. But in light of your words I will allow them to breath alot more and reduce my slight twisting to just once every other month and definitely not as tight. Ill post some pics of my last bunch versus tis punch maybe you can see teh slight difference.
the 1st video is the results of maintenance 2nd keeping them all nsatural unmaintained
