I got motor oil in my hair...UUUGH!!! And I have to do a job tomorrow that involves working with it again and I'm 100% sure that it'll get in my hair again. (The wind in Wyoming is strong)...I covered up my hair with a bandana but there is no way around it. I'm getting the nastiest/dirtiest motor oil in my hair and it SUX! I hope nobody ever gets this nasty crap in your hair. It sux so bad. I don't know how much I'm getting in my hair everyday and I don't know how this will effect my dreading progress but tomorrow I'm going to try to cover my hair even better with a thick cotton beanie and hope for the best. It just sux when you finally see progress and then feel like you're being held back by something so stupid. Hopefully if I work really hard tomorrow I can get the job done and not have to work on it ever again. But that would take hours and hours and I'm really not looking forward to it. =( Aaagh!

Thanks, guy's. I'll try the dish soap. I read online that vinegar really helps get it out and since I use that already then I shouldn't have any left but just in case I will use the dish soap tomorrow after working. I'm just gonna do the job tomorrow and finish it no matter how long it takes. I don't want to work with motor oil out in the wind anymore. It pisses me off.

Whenever I get a lot in mine I just make sure I wash it that day and I have yet to see any negative effects. I believe someone told me HOT water is good for getting oil out, although you may have a bigger problem then I have because motor oil is a bit thicker then what I am used to dealing with, but either way its all nasty stuff. Every time I am in my machine I look all around and try to avoid it but it always happens

It sux because the wind blows it all over me in droplets so it's hard to tell how much really got in my hair but I know it's a good bit because I can see the drops all in my facial hair and I wear safety glasses and after about half an hour of working I can't even see out of em. I wouldn't worry so much if I had more mature dreads but it's frustrating only having hair and commitment with a few dreads on the side, lol.

Yea its the worst, but you will end up fine, I'm sure there are plenty of dready mechanics out there who deal with it all the time. Just keep em clean GreyGargoyle said:
