Dreads/Messy Hair/Work

As my hair gets longer, my afro is going a little out of control with lots of frizz. I feel my hair clumping and starting to form, but I feel my bosses and coworkers are hinting for me to cut my hair...any tips or advice on how to manage this my hair a little so it's a little more presentable? I was even thinking of wearing something over my head at work in case if one of my bosses suddenly decide to sit down and talk to me about my hair. Everyone has been mentioning barbers out of the blue and my boss sent me a funny hair meme about long hair, but it also had to do with the quarantine and could've been unrelated. I live in Florida and Governor Desantis just made it so that barbers and salons can now open slowly. I may be overly paranoid, but I don't want to have to cut my hair if they do decide to have this talk with me...I recently got a raise so it can't be that bad right?

I try to always make sure my beard is well groomed if I grow it out and make sure that I am not smelly. I was thinking of maybe getting a tam, but I am not sure my afro is long enough for one yet.

I work in an office and barely interact face to face with customers.

note: race and or culture is no longer defendable, only religious or spiritual "sincerely held belief"

i worked in an IT office myself i had regular meetings with congressmen, heads of finance, multi million multi naftional orgs (like red cross) the original head of homeland security etc etrc

i had dreads to the ground and a bushy dreaded beard to my knees

it was never an issue

if they say anything just say 'i have chosen to let my hair dread naturaly because _____" that blank can be anyth8ing that you sincerely believe 'i have taken the nazarite vow' or "i am a buddhist and this is my way of letting go of vanity' or ' i just want to be my most natural self'   or you can say you are becoming a rasta, or exploring shamanism, or really anything 'i am a christian/jew, and its my commitment to my faith' literaly just about any belief ..even one you alone believe is defendable

even the irrational belief that dreading might save you from covid. or "i am lettinjg it grow for___ "  insert someone you love.. since going to a hair salon puts your family at risk of getting infected

Thank you so much for your response! I have been reading about meditation during my lunch, so hopefully that will better convince either of my bosses that it is belief based. I think it's insane that race and culture is no longer defendable. You gave me a lot of good ideas.
