Keep forgetting to do an update. 20 weeks:

20181117_082255.jpg

6 months(ish):

7 and a half months(ish) I don't really know anymore:

Also I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of doing a video.

Around about 11 months:

With them really dreading properly I decided to cut off all of these massive lumps from the end of each dread which I guess were created because the hair was too thin at the ends to properly dread so just balled up but now that the hair above them is properly dreaded you could see that they would neber be that thick and these ridiculously big "balls" would be there forever. As you can see in this picture:

20190523_163608.jpg

Here's the before:

20190523_162452.jpg20190523_162630.jpg

And after:

20190523_164500.jpg20190523_164449.jpg

Yes I've lost what seems like a load of length but they are much lighter and tidier and could really tell how ridiculously hard the "balls" were when I dropped one on the floor and it made a very audible thud. I know it will be a controversial decision for some but at the moment I'm glad I did it.

natural wasn't a fail .. never is, but due to the rochet might have been delayed and required more patience.

crochet was a fail for sure and did a lot of harm to your hair. Neglect or t&r is the way to go and everything will turn out fine. You need patience, no matter which method you pick! Good luck for your restart!

Let's just hope they stay in this time.

My wife did the back ones and they all seem quite neat and tidy where as the ones that I did myself seem pretty frizzy. No idea what we were doing differently.

I did all of mine myself and they're all pretty frizzy.๐Ÿ˜‚ Some of the ones in the back underneath have lots of hair that comes off of them. It's a mess really.

Embrace the mess!

When I had my hair crocheted I was led to believe that they should all be pristine and have no loose hairs at all.

What a way to make you go back and pay more money to get them "tidied".

I love the mess that is my hair. I just can't wait for the mature dread look. But I realize you can't get the nature look without enduring the mess first. Can I just fast forward another 10 months?๐Ÿ˜

I've only got 10 months left of my 20s so I'd rather not...
