from Georgia rt 52 take Nimblewill Church rd several miles into Chattahoochee national forest. Make a left onto fs 28-1 for a few miles make a left on 83 aka Bull Mountain rd. take that about 1.5 miles to welcome home.

The rainbow gathering begins today, seed camp anyway, come on out early and plug in put your energy into building a big beautiful gathering theres miles of plumbing to run kitchens stages and bridges to build. in short theres alot more coming to join you. from today on the gathering grows larger as more brothers and sisters come home. the week of july 1-7 is "the rainbow gathering" when we are all together, centered around the 4th celebration of interdependence in silence not independence with explosions. our prayer/hope/vision for peace is what we come home for.

the 7th has come and gone. vision council is counseling seeking a region for next year and cleanup and disappear has begun. while all of the gathering works by cooperation, pitching in, lending a hand and sharing a smile. cleanup is time to work hard love our mother earth  and disappear every sign we were ever there.

after tens of thousands celebrated here this is the meadow today (literally taken today 1 year later)

are you committed? stay and pick up "microtrash" if its the size of a pin head find it clean it up.

preparing for a rainbow gathering for  the unprepared

just now you decide to go, pack the car and had on home. the rainbow gatherings calling you loud and clear. you want to go go go.

stop.. and make sure you got what you need. a cup bowl and spoon will keep you from eating off bark, or a frisby with your fingers. socks don't forget socks.. lots of socks.. oh and shoes i know ya want to run around tye woods barefoot ..and you're perfectly ok to.. but then you get a nice big splinter or rock split toe. medicine? do you need any?  do you have any you don't need someone might? its hot out now but might get cold bring warm clothes  blankets whatever you need to be safe healthy and comfortable.

be safe be legal make sure your vehicles legal and in the woods, use blinkers at every turn. drive real real slow on the way in lots of kids playing dogs too

Interesting. I am just wondering mainly about the legality of this. I am not a lawyer, but I bet this raises a lot of legal issues with land usage and ownership rights etc. Do you have any legal precedence for this? Seems like this raises the fundamental issue of private property rights. Like if nobody is using it can people have the right to claim it for a better use than just sitting empty. Like Native Americans were basically kicked out of their land and now who "owns" it?

its in national forests which is publicly owned land. we are excersizing our 1st amendment rights to gather on public land..our land.  many years ago the fs enacted an unconstitutuional requirement for a permit. we do not sign permits (ther is no 1 person who can take responsibility for the group.  there is no official group at all just thousands of individuals that gather in the same places.

every court case has been in our favor. the supreme court won't hear our case however.  but any and all harassment we get from law, the courts find in our favor and give the law enforcers warnings

How often do you guys get shot at by the forest service or whatever they are that shoot you with pepper-painball guns?
Have they always done that?
Does it happen everywhere you go or is it just in some parts of the country? Do they attack everyone, or just some of you?

that was once and only once and the courts came down on them very hard for that

they were after a guy who brings like 500 pouns of herb to share  and gives it away freely. he packs 2000 pipes focumenting every last 1 to make sure he never packs the same pipe twice. 

they have done roadblocks in the past which we walk right through peacefully. and ofcourse the courts say they cannot do roadblocks cutting off our supplies and our ability to bring in meds or remove anyone who needs emergency treatment. 

mostly  they are decent to us.. friendly in fact. except some states they are more harassing. 

we actually escort them through the gathering.. we police the police

The gathering is taking place in the Chattahoochee National Forest in northern Georgia.
DIRECTIONS: From Interstate 75 south east of Chattanooga, Tennessee, take highway 76 east approximately 67 miles towards East Ellijay, Georgia. From East Ellijay, take Highway 62 east towards Dahlonega. About 28 miles from East Ellijay, turn north (left) on Nimblewill Road. Then turn right on Forest Service Road 28-1. Then turn left on Forest Service Road 83 (aka Bull Mountain Road). Continue about 1.5 miles to Welcome Home. Parking for buses is available.

Not something id be able to swing currently, but ive been following on instagram #RainbowGathering. Lol. I'll definitely make it to some gatherings in my life. I feel I'd find myself very much at home. Big people person.
