Here we go, 3 months old dreads. I rinse everyday, wash with soap once per week and also moisturize almost on a daily basis with grape seed oil.

depending on how stiff they are you might want to condition more with aloe or jojoba or argon or a combo of them

sooner they loosen a bit the better

They are a bit stiff but it doesn't bother me. They will get less stiff in time with daily rinsing.
I actually just moisturized with aloe Vera gel this morning, left it in for 20 minutes and rinsed with my shower.
I'm just gonna mostly let them do their thing for the next few months and rinse / moisturize daily.
I'm not certain about the wax yet, I am pretty certain that I might just put a small amount on the tips / ends  (about 2 mm) of each Rasta so they don't undread after I rinse each time.
Playing with the tips all the time with my fingers to keep them dreaded is too much of a pain.

dont then leave the tips alone

they are better off loose anyways then water runs out the ends they take 5 times longer to dry if they are blunted on te tips, if the tips are axed thats way worse! they will be waterproof and water cant run out the ends

plus

if you put wax  on the tips, the tips will never ever ever dread

the stiffness can take a very long time to get less stiff but the aloe will elp

don't play with them at all, if your playing with the ends your undoing them

just wash and keep your hands out

New pics, about 14 weeks old dreads, I've stopped worrying about the roots and just let them be for the past 2 weeks. Rinse daily with water, shampoo once or twice per week and I like to oil them a little with grape seed oil every morning so they don't dry up too much (for moisture). The itches are totally gone! Not sure why, maybe the daily rinsing, or weekly shampoo or the grape seed oil, or maybe Jesus? Dunno, but wow, so happy the itching is gone. Also I have absolutely Zero dandruff and Zero scalp build up!

Yes I rinse daily in the shower and also use grape seed oil to moisturize when my hair gets dry.
