but regardless of type, wash 1-3 times a week with a good natural dread shampoo. dreadlocks shampoos are most highly recommended around here. the liquid for any non African hair types (till mature) then bars. if African type hair go straight to the bars (other choices don't matter just these the liquid contains sea salt so it dreads faster but over dries african hair.
mostly wash the scalp gently and carefully try not to mess with the hair too much (like running fingers through) then rinse it through
try to air or drip dry towel drying can wipe out progress
lastly to avoid big dreads separate as needed
