Sadly I'm going to be parting with my dreads soon to pursue my passion of helping others as a first responder. Can anyone shoot me the names of some people/organizations that accept dread donations?

well unless u need an airtight mask u do notneed to part with yhour dreads

well thsat is if they were natural since u maintained and used crochet to start they are not only damaged but considered fashion only so they can ask you to cut them

if yiud grown them naturaly and didnt maintain you can keep them aslong as u dont bneed an airtight mask or helmet firefighters fighter pilots and austraunauts are siome of the only jobs that can require yuou to cut

hiwever becausde of how they were started ansd maintained its probly a good idea to start over anyway or at least let your scalp recover you probly have alot of thinning from the twisting and buildup from the poor choixce in shampoos

there is a post on donations probly featured but they were very hard to conrtact so might no longer do it

Thank you! Yeah I'm kinda going into law enforcement and dreads conflict with their image standards (silly if you ask me)there is also a tactical reason behind it as well (guess they give whoever I might be scuffling with something to hang on to). It's good to know that the crochet method isn't ideal and by cutting em I'll be giving my hair some time to recover. When I start them again after I retire I'll definitley do them naturally. I'll keep searching however for a charity, I truly want them to benefit someone else in need. I know law enforcement is probably the last thing a dready would go into, but I'm determined to become one of those respectful, compassionate, problem-solving, and community strengthening cops that this country doesn't see enough of.
