howdy folks

i was helping the good folks at http://enchantedforrest.ning.com/ diagnose a problem when i saw they do a magazine

we could do the same in 3.0 easily if a couple writers and creative types would be willing to be our magazine crew

we would need

3 or 5 "staff writers" that do regular collums and advice sections

we would need editors

and we can accept guest submissions

we would use the awesome new groups feature with the blogs or custom pages to create website versions of each issue (monthly or bi weekly its all up to you)

we would also create a downloadable pdf version of each

they use http://www.scribd.com to distribute the downloadable versions (its free) but we could just distr\ibute them from the site

what do u guys think?

wed have permenat archives of every issue and annualy we can put oit a 'boxed set" (virtual box that is" wich would simply be a collection of that years issue bound into 1

great idea and i think alot ppl can benefit from the finished product may bring in more traffic an cool people to join as members of our lil dready community u have got here SE

i can try an help once n while with whatever i have any knowledge of doing lol

the new sites just so much more customizable and powerful we might as well take it to the limits

oh we should have a graphics guy too to really make it a classy presentation

That sounds amazing! I wouldn't have enough knowledge to contribute regularly but I think the guest submissions idea is great!

Editing is making sure grammar, spelling, etc is OK, right? If so, I can do that I might like to be a writer too, but I'm not too sure if I'd be able to yet, so maybe after seeing someone else's submission to see what it's like.

im sure you could write but lets start you off as a guest writter if your submissions are awesome we'll bring u in permenantly

barelchick would be another good staff as well as baba ofcourse

id maybe do an ask eagle type thing where i answer a few of the months trickier questions or maybe id just write a article i dunno

I haven't even seen it yet but Ask Eagle is already my favourite section, and you could get nature/Dan farella in to do cool herbalism sections, not so much dread related but still very interesting

its dread related enough

we will have a brainstorming session as soon as we nail down a few kep players to be "on staff"

(disclaimer the staff will be unpaid unless everyone decides we should charge or ask for a donation for the downloadable versions)

just didnt want anyone confused by that name haha

although if we are getting like 50k downloads a month i guess we could alow members with shops to "sponsor' issues or somerhing

id most likely prefer to keep it frree and accessible but all things we can discuss as we organize

if we are sure we want to do this i can go ahead and create a group on 3.0

we can have a forum just for members and staff thats hidden from public view
