well natural dreads are supposed to be messy and let to do their own thing, not gels and root rubbing- glad you realized this, i did the same!! you'll start to see true beauty in your messy locs once you make that realization that they're to be untamed. mine were a mane of mess and I felt amazing sporting them- though now they've matured to the point that they're uniform and neat but I had a great time with that mess! ever changing it is
