Wow. I resonate with this, nearly fell off my chair.

I'm brand new here, haven't even properly introduced myself yet, just had to give a shout out here. My journey over the last 9 months has been, well, nearly the same. I'm here because I'm at the "give up CONTROLLING FREAKING EVERYTHING point as well haha...

well natural dreads are supposed to be messy and let to do their own thing, not gels and root rubbing- glad you realized this, i did the same!! you'll start to see true beauty in your messy locs once you make that realization that they're to be untamed. mine were a mane of mess and I felt amazing sporting them- though now they've matured to the point that they're uniform and neat but I had a great time with that mess! ever changing it is :)
