Didjeridurian said: This reminds me of the employment situation. When people are forced to cut their dreads becasue they do not conform to the idea of what is socially acceptable in the workplace.
When someone says they can't get a job because no one will hire them, the answer is simple...Hire Yourself! Start a business and become your own boss.
I know its not easy and sometimes its just downright difficult.
I'll be honest my business is hurting right now and sometimes I see the people gettin weekly paychecks and catch myself in a bit of envy. But at the end of the day, I am in a position where no one can tell me what to do in order to make my living in this life. To me that is worth more than the false sense of security of some "steady job".
In this case, it seems marching band is something you are really into. Thats awesome, however think about WHY it is so important. I guarantee that when you seriously answer that question, you can satisfy that desire on your own accord without conforming to some facist organization like what our schools have become.
I know a girl who actually organized a marching band of her own that is totally independent. It was tough for her and it took a while but look at the rewards.
Break out of the system and find your god given liberty...by any means necessary
All power to YOU my brother
