Wanting to dread my hair

Hello, I'm Chloe & I just recently moved to a little town called Dyersburg, Tennessee. I've been looking to find someone or a place that could do dreadlocks. But I can't seem to find anyone that will take me seriously.. I'm about 45 to an hour away from Jackson. Is there anyone around here that knows a place or someone that could possibly dread my hair or tell me how to do so myself.

Welcome Chloe. All you need to dread your own hair is a good dread shampoo and some patience. Look at the top of the page and click on the dreaducation button. Read thru that info, you'll find most if your answers there.

Is there anything else besides not combing it? Cause I don't brush my hair at all to begin with, it doesn't change from brushing it.

My hair's down to my hips almost. I did recently put a razor to it, just to thin it out a bit.

Is there a certain type of shampoo I should buy from there? Or does it not matter? (as in bar or liquid)
