Are my dreads okay for 1 month in, well a month in a week..

I put in the bottom row a while back, and the top one has been about 2 weeks

Yee i do want them to be thick, and to be honest i thought square sections are a bit weird..Is randomly placing them a good idea? Because I have quite thin hair..
