When you dread your hair the natural way, is it supposed to shorten as the dreads form? Just a question

when u take a string and stretch it out and measure it its as loi9ng as it gets then crumple it up into a ball and its as short as it gets
so ofcourse any dreads will shrink when dreaded (if they actualy dread and arent just broken into peices and woven together)
it has to shrink toi dread
but natural dreads typicaly shrink less drasticly and more gradualy so its less odvios

My hair was 21" long before I started dreads. After it sectioned for a couple of weeks, I did the Twist & rip method, and then nothing else but love & patience. Over half of my 8 month old dreads are above my shoulders. The longer the hair, the more drastic the shrinkage. They shrink & turn into the width of the section of the roots.
