how long has it been since you last crocheted? average recovery time i believe is about 6 months, maybe you could take a peek through the recovery forums & see when others started to look more dread like & less poked at? in time that look will go away, it's great they are already thickening up!

recovery time is 6 months if used once if used often can be more then a year
