Neither on is better or worse. Liquid is gentler on baby locks because you don't have to scrub as hard with it. When they are mature enough that washing doesn't make them untangle much, just from the water pressure, you can use a bar. But you can use a bar at any point if that's what you want to use

I live in Grand Rapids, Mi and having issues with hard water residue as well. My dreads atre taking on a rust color from the iron in the water. :( What would anyone recommend to get the residue out? Should I start rinsing with distilled water?

Find yourself a good water softener. They make ones that you can replace your current shower head with. I've heard good things about them.

Until them, I'd recommend washing with distilled water. What brand shampoo are you using? We can help see if there are any ingredients in it that would leave residue. You may just need to change shampoos.

The ones from dreadlockshampoo, com work great in hard or soft water
