my little experiment :)

Well, first of all, hi! :)

To tell the truth... i signed in to ask you something i posted on yahoo answers also, but didn't get an answer. Here it goes then. I have always liked dreads, but i was too afraid to turn my whole hair into locks. Plus, i am 16 and my parents would not be supportive at all. So, i decided to make a small experiment, and made two dreads only, 4 or 5 days ago, thinking that, if i succed, maybe i'll get more. I used this method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jWVtRe9IU0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSzkXXvNqL0&feature=related without any backcombing at all, 'cause i broke the comb, lol

The thing is that... they look more than bad-formed braids than actual dreads. I tried crocheting, and it does make a small difference, but still, the result is hardly something like this: http://stylebyanastasia.com/images/5911070_scrop.gif and no way like this: http://cdn.publishme.se/cdn/4/1742928/images/2010/dreads_111625748.jpg
Is there something i can do to fix it?

Thank you :)

never e er ever crochet dreads thats extreme damage its 1 of the worse things u can do

its fine if they look braidlike you dont "make dreads" u allow dreads tnr and any other method is just a placeholder ..defining the sections the dreads themselves only happen by leaving them alone!\

dreads are best when allowed to form naturaly no methods at all used the more forceful the method the more extreme the damage and crochets extremely bad

that vid u posted sucks bad never follow that advice

absolutely a crochet hook should bnever be used on hair ever

the best way to dread is to do nothing no twist n rip no backcomb nothung

it dreads itself

tnr is gentle compared to orther methods so doesnt harm the hair much..backcomb is fairly harmful but crochet is extreme damage

the less brute force u use the berter
