My name is Mariah, but everyone calls me Mya :P

I'm 17, I already graduated high school and I started my dreadlocks last week. They are 7 days old and I washed them once. I usedthe ACV/Baking soda mixture for washing them.

I used teh back combing method to make them, but I really haven't touched them since then. People keep telling me that I need to re-tighten them, crochet them and use tightening gel because there's still a lot of loose hair. But I don't want to put any products in my hair, even if it will help. My dreads can tighten up and form on thier own and I don't want to rush them. I feel like they turn out better if you wait and let your hair do it's own thang.

Here's a picture:

We do love you too.

Products wouldn't help anyway. They would help make you're hair look like locks. But most would either completely prevent them from locking, or just add harmful residue to your hair which would be a pain to wash out and may cause mold and mildew to grow.

Follow your heart. Don't put anything in your hair you don't want there
