Eagle's right... But... you have to weight the situation. You can always argue your case. But you have to feel it out. If you win, your boss might hold that against you. You could be labeled a trouble maker from the start. And that's not a good way to start any job. Let them find out your a trouble maker after you show them you're a great worker. If they think you are going to be a hassle later down the line, they might hire you cause legaly they have to, but they might either make your life miserable so you quit, or they might try to fire you for something small, but your hair is the real reason behind that.
Look up the laws in your state. At least in Pa., an employer can fire you for whatever reason they want and don't have to explain it to you. It's up to you to prove it was unjust. And if you ever sign a write-up, that works against you. Find out your state's laws. It's very useful
There are also jobs that you just don't want them. Cops could have them, but they pose a safety risk. If you ever find yourself in situation with someone resisting arrest, you don't want something they could grab hold of. That goes for a few other jobs too. You could keep them, but it just might not be wise. In that case you would have to decide whether you really want the job, or you really want to keep your hair
