Sad story vent/rant..

Well, around this time my dreads would have been just about 8 months going neglect, and damn were they looking awesome. But a few weeks ago I made such a terrible decision cutting them off from some problems I was going through. I'm not even sure the point in writing this because of how suck the situation is to me, just felt like this was the obvious place to do so.

So, I cut them off around 2 weeks ago, not even knowing the real reason on doing so. I have severe anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder on top of depression, and wasn't aware of how bad that was until those few weeks ago where I literally thought I was dying on top of the symptoms making me think so all caused from mental, and before going to the doctors is when I cut something that was becoming such a personal importance to me...

I'm having a hard time dealing with this actually, because from all this stress and anxiety that I've had over the years my hairline has receded so bad and thinning out in some areas, and I'm only 21. I'm not meaning to complain to any of you, it's just I'm having an extremely hard time having the shortest hair I've ever had in my life and knowing that I probably cant grow them back from the way my hair is going. I just don't know how to move on from this at the moment lol... Just time I suppose.

Peace and love.

Regardless of whether or not you have dreadlocks you are still you. How you view yourself is more important than how others view you and if you can see your true spirit and soul then your outward appearance really doesn't matter at all. I can personally relate to PTSD and anxiety, a lot of people who are on here havesimilar problems. I hope that you're doing alright now brother and honestly if you take care of yourself and can find some peace of mind you might be surprised that your hair can grow back a bit fuller. I don't know your entire situation and sorry if that's not the case. I've just learnt not to deal anything out until its all said and done. There's a quote floating around, may have been SE and think it's something like "The past doesn't shape who you are, but the present shapes who you will become" (correct me if I'm wrong). Jah Bless Brother.

I was thinking about it before I did the cut, but I just couldn't have any interest in coming on here, all I was thinking about was horrible stuff. But that being said, I'm going to grow my hair out long enough again and will see from there, cause I definitely would LOVE them to be back again. Only worry is I just hope I have a decent head of hair by then.

Thank you for all those kind words brother. That is exactly how I felt after I did cut them, I just wanted to be happy and make sure that I was okay and that is and was only hair. Now the regretting stage is happening, even though I still am very blessed to be okay which is the more important aspect. And yeah I was prescribed a few meds to help control what's going on and they are helping very much, but I definitely don't want to become dependent on them. Thank you for your concern, and I hope you have yours under control too! That is an amazing quote by the way, and as for the hair I will just let it grow to a desired length again before I try again for my 3rd time.

This young age losing hair stuff is for the birds lol, hope your boyfriend is taking it better than I am. But thank you for the positivity! I'm going to attempt my journey again if I can someday, hopefully that someday is in the near future. Once again, thank you so much.
