Just want to introduce myself!

Helloooooo,

I'm Steven from Oviedo, FL, a city outside of the eastern part of Orlando. I had two of my friends put dreadlocks in my hair when I was a senior in high school, but only kept them in for about two weeks. My girlfriend wouldn't go to prom with me if I kept them in. Which sucked because I was in love with them. I know, a little whipped, but it's the past. NOW, 3 years later, I decided to get dreads put into my hair again but by a girlfriend who was ALL FOR the idea. I've had them for 4 months on the 17th of May. TOMORROW! I had perfectly straight hair, and used the backcomb method. I started out using a little wax here and there, but after reading posts on this site, I definitely discontinued the use of that crap. I started out with little rubberbands on the tips and roots for the first month and then took those off. At first I was upset cause of all the loose hair but then I really started growing on it and it looks wicked cool. I surf every chance I get, so all the salt water and wind is definitely helping.

So now that I've introduced myself, I was just wondering if some people can view my photos that I took the other day, and let me know if you think that my dreads are coming along good for being 4 months old. I'm alway questioning whether they are turning out ok, and if they are doing things properly. So I guess if you can give me some feedback, it'd be really appreciated. All feedback is useful so send it to me!

Thanks!

I keep using the Baking Soda rinse to get the wax out. I heard it was good to remove it. Every time I go surfing I squeeze on the parts that still have a little wax in it and I try and scrape it out. Most of it is all removed from the salt water but where I had the rubberbands on there is still a small small amount.

Alrighty. Yeah I barely used any back when I did, I used it probably once, and only a little bit. I can only feel it about an inch off my scalp and I meant when I'm surfing and the salt water is in them, its easier to mush up and scrape out. It's not really on the outside of the dread, the water just helps me get it out. I'll do the vinegar soak occasionally and see what's up. I was just seeing if they look alright for only being 4 months old.
