Hey ppl, Ive been pining for dreads about 5 years now. I want to start them the crochet method.I'm willing to travel far for them but this is my attempt to find someone closer to home first.Id do it my self but I dont know how. I bought the needles and tried. Plus my parts would be awful.

You said "twist and rip do it yourself crochet is really really really bad" which means its actually really really good? I was confused there for a moment.I tried this and I have 4 locks so far. I will play in it tomorrow, fortunately the whole back of my hair is already in twist so Im just un doing them one by one -- not having to part it. Unfortunately I dyed my hair 2 months ago and I lost sooo much thickness. Ive repaired it and stopped the breakage, the treatment left my hair extremely soft. The nice fat dreads I could have had wont show up until about 3 months. Thanks for all the replies. Ill post pictures when I finish with my hair! soaringeagle said:

Its sorta hard to take pictures of the back of your head. My hair is curly so I was just trying to show you the texture. I did two on each side in the back. Ive been at work all day so this is all my progress so far. Does it look like Im doing it properly?
