Starting from scratch :)

I've just shaved my head and I plan to never comb my hair when it grows back. I'm just gonna browse around here and learn how to take care of it when the time comes, maybe get to know some people So how long does my hair have to be before I see some dreads?

typically 6 inches but if you never comb from bald on  its possible to start at 4-5
