Cool dream it reminds me of a dream I once had.I had a dream where there was a HUGE natural disaster and our clothes were in shreds and the lands had ripped apart (land rose and some sank) and I had my child on my hip while trying to climb up the edge of a earthy cliff, I was clinging to roots that were sticking out of the clay and rubble...a blond dread locks guy popped his head over the edge and held out his hand helped me up and there was a camp of survivors. We were split into groups according to our skills. I went to the medicine camp, his name was Seth.

Indeed this sentence has also deeply affected mi. The visual i see from this narritive is very intense! The almightys hands 'finger combing' the earth and his fingers catching on the locks of the righteous.
I once had a dream that I was standing on a great wall upon a great mountain with hundreds of thousands of other dreadlocked peoples, pounding pon drums and fi some reason those words remind me of that dream. I'm not sure why.

Wow man, Thats a drag..The Church is supposed to be the body of Christ...He hung out with hookers an thieves. How is a Church supposed to help people that need it, when they're scared of their own shadow. Its the sick who need a doctor..not the healthy....a Church that kicks people out because they're different is the most hypocritical thing ever. Find a new place to worship bro.

I agree with a lot of things said here. I just wanted to post my favorite quotes from the discussion."jesus said, come onto me, not get the hell out...my locks have a greatter chance of getting me into heaven then your church ever did anyway.." - SE"The problem with organised religion is exactly that. It's organised." - JFM"they literaly cannot do a thing if they try go pray outside and ask every parrishioner whos going in to join you dont tell them theyre wrong if they go in but persist show up there week afyer week and every week ask again after u get 1 to join u more will followpeople will feel more real faith outside then in" - SE"Yup that is pretty much it. I was raised in a Christian cult and they can twist and turn things to make anything sound like a sin. They want to destroy the individual by putting up standards on appearance so that the individual no longer exist and this person is now part of the collective, I'm not saying that Brandon's church is like this I'm just saying that high control groups use these tactics to control." Jdwood"and come the judgment day his hand shall rake the land and tangle in the locks of thre righteous lifting them to the promised land" - SEFor some reason I picture a big hand (could have more than 4 fingers, maybe no need for a thumb) reaching down out of the sky and pulling up all the deadheads (and those who have just started such as myself, lol) and pulling us to salvation.I don't think I saw a 2nd response from Brandon. I wonder how he's doing

Nazarites grew locks. Samson was a Nazarite and is the most often mentioned reference in the bible. You know who else came from Nazareth? Jesus. That's right. He probably rocked locks also. In some scripture he is refered to as Jesus of Nazareth. Here is some info about Nazarites from www.learnthebible.org :"Read: Numbers 6:1-27The vow of the Nazarite was voluntarily made by those who desired to separate themselves unto the LORD (v.2) for a determined season. All the days of his separation he is holy unto the LORD (v.8). During the time of his separation, the Nazarite was bound by three absolute restrictions.First, he could eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk (v.4).Second, there shall not razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled (v.5).Third, during the days of his separation, he shall come at no dead body (v.6).At the end of his separation, specific sacrifices must be made at which time the hair of his separation is shaven (v.19). At that time, the restrictions of the vow are removed. The vow was offered voluntarily. Evidently, the Nazarite himself determined the length of the vow. Therefore, he decided how much he was willing to sacrifice. Yet, after the vow was made, its requirements were very strict. Consider the three restrictions placed on the Nazarite. As a whole, they illustrate the cost of discipleship for the believer today."It is widely accepted among scholars that not allowing a razor to come upon his head means no maintenance to the hair on the head thus forming dreadlocks. Of course back then they didn't just refer to them as dreadlocks, but merely locks. Prettymuch everyone was rockin' locks, it was the holy thing to do.

Many often speculate that Biblical figures such as Samson, John the Baptist and Samuel could have also had dreadlocks because of their status as Nazarites. The Nazarites took a vow to never cut their hair, and according to the encyclopedia entry, this is strong evidence that these figures might have had dreadlocks.Read more: The History of Dread Locks | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/about_5434379_history-dread-locks.html#ixzz1CnJYqowh

there is actually conjecture as to whether jesus was a essene or a nazarite.... i have always gone with the nazarite idea, he was from nazareth so it makes sense...

yeah that is so true, when i visited spain last year and visited many churches. There was a church that had a body of a saint in a full goldcasket withdiamonds andjewelson the tablet it said the casket is worth something like $100,000. it wouldve been a better investment to follow the word of the bible and spent that money to help people

I agree. A church is a good rock to sit on, not a big fancy building.
If you gotta read it in english, king james version is the most scholarly accepted of all versions, because it is the closest to translation. And it calls them locks. This is also in Talmud, but of course, what most religions have done is translated all these documents and put forth only what they want us to know. That's why i rather go back to the source and that is nature itself.

there is depending what version u search it could say he had hair like wool or hair like ropes i used a bible seach engine that can search 100 different versions of the boble each version provides pretty different results
but i think most scholars now believe jesus was arab or dark skinned , black or arabian so the whole image your familiar with is failtly inacurate, just like the image of jesus was manufactured by european white churches during the misddle ages so were most versions of the bible as well, even the very basic 10 commandments have been altererd by man to suite mans desires. for instance thou shalt not kill odviosly the most precios commandment that presserves all lidfe was altered to be thou shalt not murder this allows killing of animals, of "enemoes" of heathens
jesus himself as well as joseph and john the baptists were nazarites who took the nazarite vow.
heres the bible search i used
