Who else had/has to deal with people telling them they should get their dreads done "properly"?

i actually got mine made in a saloon (Yes i regret it, should've gone for the natural. If only i knew better back then...)But i figured out there was no need for maintenance except washing. After that i've heard it some times, but its rare now.Altho my parents never comment on my dreads, not even a single bit. I may have gotten them long enough for them to believe that dreads are nice and clean
