'' its all a marketing gimmick to convince you to spend money .. shaming healthy dreads so you can have a damaged alternative ''
Good thing that the only money i spend for my dreadlocks are baking soda and vinegar, besides dye ( it's my 2nd time in 2 years when i dye them )
''severe damage from crochet are both epidemic now''
I do understand your point of view and i agree with it but i can't let my loose hairs because most of the times are they just getting on my nerves.
So i do one maintenance once two months or so, it won't hurt them as much like happened with those people who were going bald, that was only because they were overdoing it maybe like once 2 weeks or so and when they did it, they did it ''real good'', i can bet on that.
DO NOT SE THE BAKING SODA AND VINAGER
my worse mistake was ever recommending tht!
baking soda will eat the skin off your scalp
acv will dissolve your hair it will dissolve a bone enough in 12 hours to tie it in a knot
after I use that too long 6-10 inch dread sections fell off daily!
my hair was so incredibly weak
'I switched to www.dreadlockshampoo.com and they became instantly stronger
I cant recommend those highly enough (bars for mature dreads)
when my loose hairs get on my nerves I switch from the dreadlockshampoo bars to the liquid..usually only 1 wash . and I get a dozen or 2 new dreads form just like that
u might need a couple washes with the liquid'
I don't
but the liquid locks up the loose hairs very well
