Okay this doesn't apply to me but what if someone had balding genes and they grew dreads when they were young and their balding would start say in their thirties...what would happen? Would all their dreads fall out like regular hair?

Well... Yeah. Dreads are still regular hair, the only difference is that dreads are matted hair.

Yeah... But, people with genetic predispositions to go bald will go bald eventually anyway. My baby brother, who is now 16, has about 10 more years before he starts going bald too.
So, the way I see it, they should use the hairy time they have to rock some awesome dreads.
And, from what I see around me, most men lose hair on top of their heads, only a few lose all of it. So I figure it would be damn cool to be a half-bald half-dreaded eighty year old man. :D
