To Bang Or Not To Bang... That is the Question.

So, I'm trying to figure out whether to have bangs or go full dreads. I really like the feminine aspect that bangs add to dreads, but I'm not sure my hair will cooperate - and if my hair does cooperate, how much of my hair along my hairline be bangs... and how to I get them to look good? All inputs welcome!

I love how bangs look when the rest of a girls hair is locked up. My wife kept her bangs when she had locks. It looked amazing. Do you want to keep your bangs long, or cut them short? If they are short, they won't get sucked into other locks as much. Longer ones tend to start knotting because you push them out of the way, and they start to tangle with your locks. If time you might decide to let them knot up too, but bangs look really cool. Just figure out how much of your hair is normally left in your bands, and leave that there. From your pics, it looks awesome

I say, if you want bangs, go for it. If you change your mind later you can always grow them out. :)

All of my life I have had bangs, much to my mother's chagrin as a child since, if she didn't let the stylist cut them I would just do it myself ;) I've always kept mine short and somewhat crooked but am attempting to grow them out for the first time...

here i expected this to be bout headbangin when i read the title haha

i think bangs are cute ..but preffer a full dread

the thing is

if u let it dread naturally the "bangs" the hair around the face, and hairline dread last

soi u would keep em anyway awhile till they decided to dread

lol. I must have a dirty mind. That's not what i thought it was about. But the again, I was just on bookshelfporn.com, and there was a quote about not sleeping with someone who didn't have books when you went to their house. So that's what popped into my head

Awesome replies, thank you all for the . I'm sorry about the misleading title, I must have had a spotless mind when writing the post - which isn't very often - so I cherish that, lol. Follow up question: If I go ahead and loosen the hair around my hair line (I have a few tiny, skinny baby dreads at my temples) and comb out those wimpy little dreads, what sort of product would you recommend for undoing dreads? My thoughts are extra virgin coconut oil (bet you thought I was gonna say olive! Orange you glad I didn't?!) because coconut oil doesn't rot, doesn't go rancid, is very healthy, and washes out easily... and of course some kind of comb to slowly unknot them. Thoughts?
