How fast can dreads lock up? If your going neglect/freeform and can african hair lock fast I had some friends who got there dreads with wax and one tthem dreads llocked up within 2 months and they didnt wash for a month

african hair can lock fast it depends what u mean by lock up though mature> or just become dreads

any hair can drerad fast ive seen japanese hair dread in hours

the waxy dreads tho only look lockled up the wax will prevent them from ever locking right

neglect can lock in hours (rare) days(not too often) weeks (common) months (mot often)

dreads geberaly take a year to really mature sometimes 2

one of your friends likely had a nasty mess...leave all that stuff alone, your hair's too good a texture to mess with all the bullshit advice! let them do their thing! you'll be happy you did.

the 1 was my sis's ex whos japanese and if he didnt braid his hair b4 bed hed wake up with every hair locked into 5-8 massive dreads

the other was a teacher friend whos hair would form small thin straggly dreads several times a day she had tio9 comb them out about 4 times a day

not saeeen but ive heard som ppl clainm it took them 2-3 years but then again it may depend on how they define looking like dreads
