Eww. No. Keep a good schedule. Every three to four days minimum. Don't wash every or every other day, though because your hair needs ample times to dry or you'll have a major mold issue. A few drops of lavender extract in your bottle of apple cider vinegar rinse wards that off, but you still want to keep a good wash schedule.
I also think of washing as a knotty helper: the gentle force of water running down your hair from the roots to the tip pulls knots down thus encouraging the dreading process to move forward. Clean dreads are happy dreads! Clean dreads actually turn into dreads you can be proud of instead of just a lot of mess going on on top of your head.
I try to make it to day four before washing but sometimes... damn. Those crazy wispies just drive me bonkers to look at so I wash on day three. Depends on what I have going on that day because my hair always looks like shit for twelve hours after I wash. I have to sleep on it for it to look good again. Weird, but true. I wash and my hair fluffs out and then after I sleep on it it gets all nicely compacted again.
