A method to help dreads, or damage them?

Heey one of my friends suggested me to like stick the tip of the dread in the root of the same dread, like take it around. if u understand..

There probably is a word for it, but i dont know.. Just wanted to know if the damage the dreads or it helps?

He said that he did it for tightening up..

Can anyone confirm this or anything,?

thats 1 of the worse ideas there is you better tell him that

everytime u do that that point is at mijnumum 30$% weaker can be even much weaker then that

that can cause dreads to v=break

also u remove the room the dread needed to dread replacing dereading with that weak linking

its notoriosly bad idea

tell him to stop it right away!

and roots do not need tightening ever they should not be that tight..
