are roots supposed to feel a little thinner compared to rest of the dread?

i don't really know how to describe it, but it doesn't seem like the undreaded hair at the root is going to dread up to be a thick or dense as the rest of the dread. i've never messed with them or anything and they're not about to break off, but i was wondering if this is normal? they don't seem WEAK, necessarily.it also seems like my dreads are fattest in the middle and get thinner toward the top...

:-\ they're a little over a year now.

i also look pretty crazy because between each dread i have 2 inches of new hair sticking out all over the place. haha

feel

a dread when pinched is form so feels thick

roots pinched u can touch fingertip to fingertip with just a hairs witdh seperation so ofcourse they feel thinner

well i just get a little paranoid sometimes and i want some reassurance! the dreads do seem to be growing inquite a bit thinner though...
