Starting dreads on shorter hair

I had dreads before but then had to comb them out for work related reasons. After I combed them out I decided that would be the opportunity to try out shorter hair (something that I certainly regret now). Considering that I no longer work at that establishment, and from looking back at old photographs, I am yearning for dreads again. My hair is just below my shoulders, course, and quite wavy. Here are the questions: how much do you think they will shrink? Also, will shorter hair dread faster naturally than longer hair?

Shrinkage when my hair was longer was not an issue. I would prefer to let my hair grow out a bit more before but...I'm aching and missin' me some pretty locks.

they shrink less if started shorter they dread faster if longer yoir hairs about perfect to dread fast and shrink only a lil
