Dread thickening

What exactly happens that causes dreads to get thicker with time? And about how much thicker do they get on average?

they thicken to the root section size and they shrink and fatten as hair knors and tightens

no it has to do with horible maintenance like crochet twistimg or interlocking

if they werent all screwed up from forcing the roots to be too tight they would be about the size of the roots section no matter how thick or thin the hair itself is

yup it might not be exact but approximately the size yes

unless your doing something wrong that is

there maybe slight variations because of tecxture like of it shrinks alot more then average it might even be lil thicker then the root area but usualy its prettty close
