YOu could do it to see what it does. But when you wash, the sections will probably just come undone again, anyway. So you may as well just let them be. Spray them with salt once in a while (only before you plan to wash, though)

Home made mixtures of sea salt spray need to be rinsed out within 2 hours or it will dry out the hair. Works great but must be washed out. The Himalayan Sea Salt Spray does not need to be rinsed out after the two hour mark.
