I took out my baby dreads and decided to start over with freeforming. I think my hair is begining to dread, but the problem I have is that when I sleep the back of my hair ends up flat and I wake up with my hair looking a bit like Vegeta. Then, when I take a bath and let water get on it it's better but I know I cannot go out with my hair looking so crazy so I try pulling my hair back into shape and then doing the whole separation thing after I've oiled my scalp and hair with some olive oil and a light spray of aloe vera juice, rosemary oil, a blend of tea tree and lavender oil, grapefruit extract, and distilled water. It ends up with my hair looking like an afro which is fine for me (black woman, kinky hair) but I fear that doing so will interfere with my hair dreading. Should I just get a tam so I don't have to do that?

I never used wax in my dreads because it just wasn't for me. I hated the consistency and I was always afraid the wax would cause me to break out. I feel like there are a lot of people out there that wax works for, though. Just because wax didn't work for some of you doesn't mean that it is the root of all evil. It's JUST A LITTLE WAX, seriously get over it. This site is filled with some of the most biased arrogant elitist bullshit.
None of you are better than anyone else because you did your dreads the natural way. Some people use wax , some people don't.

you completely missed the point wax does not work for anyone it only creates the illyusion of working by gluing the hair together it prevents dreading and dreads that were waxed were proven to not dread even after 5 years
hows that arrogance or bullshit thats the facts

Look, it's the same way religious zealots think THEIR way is the only way or hardcore vegans think THEIR way is the only way. There a billions and billions of opinions out there about billions and billions of subjects. For the most part nobody is entirely right. The fact that you think you are entirely right and your way is the only way is a very arrogant way to look at things. Yes, most of these other websites are just trying to sell sell sell and market a product. That doesn't make this website any better though. You're just trying to sell your way of thinking and you make anyone that doesn't believe what you believe feel inferior.
If you're going to put down other sites for being one sided you should stop being so one sided yourself.

when soimeone waxed theyre dreads 5 years back and the waxed parts bnever dreaded after 5 years is that not proof to you?
you are trying to argue with absolutely zero experience on the sugbject
against hindreds and hundreds who suffered the desc=truction caused by wax
why are you feeling such a needs to argue when you have no exoperience on the sug=bject at all?
