Thick(er) dreads with T&R?

A friend of mine is considering getting a couple of dreadlocks underneath his hair once it gets a bit longer, and since backcombing is a waste of time, I was thinking about T&R (he wants me to help him). But all the T&R i've seen has been relatively thin. Is there a way to achieve thicker dreads with T&R, or should I do the few thin ones and hope they get thicker as time passes?

your question was you answer. at one point the thin dreads from TnR will frizz up then thats when it start to thicken up as it mature.

In regards to wider/thicker dreadlocks. The size of the section is more important. As Shuk Coot implied time will take care of the rest.
