Hey guys, okay I will tell you a bit about my story to begin. I decided to backcomb my hair in late june 2009. Now I'm near my one year mark. But the problem is that I follow the DDHQ method to have my dreads (worst idea I ever had!!). This site wasn't existing at all... Yes I used wax but only one time and it was the day I made my dreads. I have tried many wax removal and it have worked for like the half of my dreads that are now wax free. For the rest, they still got some wax in the center and it hardened. When you look at them, they don't seem have wax, but I really don't like how some of them feel... especially after I wash them; when they are wet, you can really feel the wax inside. I really hate to wet my hair for this reason.Of course, since I only used wax in the begining of my journey, all my new growth are wax free and I kinda like how they are becoming (they are like 2 inch long now). A couple month ago, I was thinking to let them grow another year and just cut the waxy tip... But now, I think that I would more appreciate my journey if I restart naturally than just support my couple of waxy dreads. And, 4-5 months ago I decided to comb out one dreads that was feeling very waxy, I washed it really well with some dish soap and hot water and let it go naturally==> I really like how it turned! What I want to do now is to cut them and save the more lenght I can, comb all my hair and restart a new natural journey, maybe I will keep 1 or 2 (unwax) that are my favorite :P. I guess it will not be so long to regrow them 'cause I got thick and curly hair. What make me wanna cut them is also that I'm going on a trip this summer for like 2 months and I will be near the ocean all that time. And if I don't like how they feel wet, I will not feel free to do what I really want...Natural way seems so more exciting than waiting to cut all those waxy tips that I don't like!Any tips, advice or suggestion is soo welcome! thanks for readingnamaste

Thanks for you answers guys!ok maybe I will try to get more out, but boiling water when your hair are kinda short is a bit dangerous... And SE, thats what I think I was gonna do but its a lot of work to comb theese dreads out, I will try to find help :P, thats probably what i'll do. I will think about it a couple of weeks and I will see what I will do... I'll let you know

I just want let you know what I finally decided to do with my hair during the last week: I soak my dreads in boiling water like 3-4 times and after that I washed them very well with some dish soap. In fact, it required alot of work, but it really worth the pain! I haven't really try boiling water before because my hair was too short and it was a suicide!!! lol.Now what I can say is that they feel much better than before. However, there was 2 or 3 dreads that I haven't been able to get the wax out and that is probably because I decided to rebackcomb them in the first months (they were unreavelling!! now, I know that it was normal lol) so wax was stuck in the middle and the dreads were really tight and hard. I comb out theese waxy part (not until the new growth) and I'll let them go naturally from here. Thanks you all for your answer and particularly thanks to Nathan who doesn't makes me act too hastily by sharing his own experience. My dreads feels good now I really love them!see ya around guys.
