Starting Dreads(Semi-FreeForm)/Hair Growth

Hey i am new to semi free form dreading and i have seen many people say theyre own methods of getting them and im still confused on how i should go about growing mine out

Diet?

Sponge or not to Slonge

Finger Twist Or Just leave them be

Any advice would help i just really want progress to be asap but I do understand it is a process and I will be patient

no sponge thats just a silly gimmick  that makes you look like a hedgehog

i wouldn't twist but, if you dont want huge dreads  do separate

just leave them be wash with a good quality all natural dread shampoo
