Would putting shea butter on once every other night be enough or should I go every 2 nights?

In your locks? I wouldn't. Some African textured hair might need a bit more moisturizing, but If you're not African American, it's not worth it

I'd ask Heather or Eagle, but I feel like Aloe from the plant would be better.

That's what I was thinking. I know Soap with it is good. I wasn't sure about it straight. Aloe will wash out easily. Shea doesn't. And Jojoba oil is always good. It's the closes to the actual oils your scalp produces

I get mine from Whole Foods. They have the best in-store selection around me. Trader Joes has a few. But there is a great link somewhere on this site that Eagle can point you to. They have everything and good prices. I haven't bought from them yet, but I have checked them out. I can't find the link now, but they are great too
