first of all, relax. your only a week in. once you start washing them regularly they'll most likely loosen up, some might fall apart completely and they'll get a ton more bumps/loops over the next 8-10 months. be ready for it to look like crap for a while. you can't control dreadlocks. its all a part of the journey.
