I take a shower every day and get my dreads wet but only wash them with dr bonners every other day or more truthfully whenever i really feel tey need it. Is this a bad thing that could slow down the process? My dreads themselves are tight and all but the roots are a little loose. Im not worryjng myself to death about it just wondering

You are doing it right.
And they will always be a little loose at the roots. That's for them to move and for the new growth to dread. It could cause all kinds of problems if they were too tight at the roots, including baldness.

Another quick question, does dr bonners cause any harm if use in hard to medium soft water? I had been using it since i started my dreads in the US, but i am on vacation in portugal at the moment and im getting a slightly oily feeling if i run my fingers through my dreads :\ not a big deal to me if it doesnt cause harm.
