Loose Hairs

Hello! So I'm really new at this. I've had my dreads for only a week now and I think they're maturing pretty nicely but I have sooo many loose hairs coming out! So many that it would take a year to do the crocheting method. I got lock and twist gel and it doesn't help that much. I hear aloe helps but I haven't tried that yet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kaitlin

They might be progressing well, but nowhere near mature, and you'll always have loose hairs, so when you're only a week in, of course you're gonna have loads. Just leave them alone and stop looking at your hair often, if you stop worrying about it you'll have more patience to let it dread on its own, and then you'll be able to see the progress more :)

wash 1-3 times a week

seperate as needed

thats all

they take time

if yoiu went to a salon forget everything thry said anddo not go back!

read the dreaducation page

are u african ameican or not if not dont use those gels thats for african twists which dont work in other hair types

dreads are loose hair ..thats alowed (not forced) to dread

it doesnt magicly come out dreaded it has to have loose hairs that then dread by tangling over time

the roots will be loose for months

loose hairs will suck in and become less month by month but as u seperare more show up

they become new dreads or join dreads on their own when long enough

just accept them leave em be and let em dread

crochet breaks tons of hair creating loose hairs creating weak dreads that break easily

dreads dont need work only patience

giveem time thats all..and that means way more then a week

Okay thank you for the information! Yes, I am white. I will post pictures soon so you can see what I'm talking about as well. Until they mature is it okay to wrap some of the dreads with string to just keep them more neat? And also, what about the aloe?

Thanks!

stop using the gel then

u can wrap em tho it comes with certain issues

it squeezes em so they end up real thin with much thicker areas at the roots

so u get thin tails on the ends

aloe works but conditions slowing progress

use it for formal events etc but not daily

your better off just ignoring the loose hairs ..forget u even have hair

dont look in mirrors
