I've been going the neglect method for about 9 months and have a lot of beads in my hair to help me separate the sections. Some of them are a little bit stuck in the hair/forming dreads. Should I crack them off with a hammer (they're wood), or just leave them in? I was concernicus about long term dread rot?

no recent pics but kinda like this

I wouldn't worry about them rotting. Only reason I could see to remove them is if you get bored of them. I take all but one bead out now and then for long periods of time, then put them back is if I feel like it.

If you really wanted them out, and they are stuck, try using a little essential oil on the hair right below them. It might just grease them up enough to slip off. If that doesn't work, cracking might be your only option. But they are small and hidden. I wouldn't worry
